Susan G. Komen® Austin and Entercom Kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with
Local Partners and Organizations Host Fundraising Events towards the Fight to End Breast Cancer.
AUSTIN, Texas—Komen Austin has a number of fundraising events scheduled for this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, Komen Austin will partner with Entercom to promote fundraising events throughout the month. With the help of Mix 94.7, Majic 95.5, and 96.3 RnB and local partners, in addition to community participation in the events scheduled, Komen Austin is able to continue saving lives locally and fighting breast cancer globally.
The following events will be held during the month of October by Mix 94.7, Majic 95.5, and 96.3 RnB, Komen Austin and their local community partners in order to raise funds and fight to end breast cancer:
- Tee it Up to Beat Breast Cancer—Thursday, October 1st at 8 PM at TopGolf.
- Drink.Shop.PINK—Saturday October 3rd at the Hill Country Galleria.
- Dine Out for the Cure—October 12-15th and October 19-22nd
- Tailgating for Tatas—October 3rd and 17th Aggies Watch Party at Third Base Sports Bar, in Southpark Meadows
- Tailgating for Tatas—October 24th tailgating for the Texas Longhorns vs. K-State football game at parking lot #7 on 18th and Congress.
- Survivor and Supporters Celebration—November 8th at the Hill Country Galleria
One in eight women will have to fight breast cancer in her lifetime, and one in four Texans is uninsured, which is the highest rate nationwide. Since 1999 Susan G. Komen® Austin has invested $11 million in breast health and education services for its five county service area, and $5 million in global breast cancer research.
