Kelly Newberg joins Susan G. Komen Austin as Development Director

AUSTIN, Texas—July 20, 2017— Susan G. Komen Austin is proud to introduce their new Development Director, Kelly Newberg. Newberg joined Komen Austin’s team in May 2017 after serving as Prosperity Bank-Lakeway’s Branch Manager for three years.

Through Newberg’s volunteer efforts with Komen Austin, she became passionate about its mission to save lives locally while ending breast cancer forever. Newberg’s fundraising skills and strong relationships in Austin’s business community will assist Komen Austin in growing its donor and volunteer base and maximizing its impact for breast cancer survivors in our five-county Central Texas area.

“I am thrilled to be joining an organization that helps so many women and men—survivors and their families and friends in our community,” said Newberg. “It’s incredibly rewarding to work with people who have such passion for the Komen Austin mission. Their drive to succeed in helping the many women and men in need of care inspires me to do more and be better than I ever have.”

As Development Director, Newberg acts as the liaison between Komen Austin and its donors and sponsors. She focuses on creating and fostering new and established relationships to ensure that Komen Austin receives the funds needed to meet its mission goals and continue helping local breast cancer survivors receive the support and care they need and deserve.

“Kelly’s fundraising background and deep connection to the Austin community make her an invaluable asset to Komen Austin,” said Suzanne Stone, Executive Director at Susan G. Komen Austin. “We’re so excited to have her on board and to see the continued impact we’ll be able to make as a team.”

Kelly also serves on the Board of Directors of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, and is the Chair of the 2017-2018 Leadership Lake Travis Class. Her hobbies include spending time with her children, outings on the lake, and enjoying live music.
